Çanakkale

 

   Many part of Çanakkale locates in Marmara Region, Turkey. Çanakkale is spreaded both Europe and Asia. Çanakkale is the biggest city in Thrace Region after İstanbul. Baba Burnu (easternmost of the Anatolia) and İnciburnu (easternmost of the Turkey in Gökçeada) is connected to the Çanakkale.

 

   Gökçeada and Bozcaada (two biggest islands in Aegean Sea) is located in Çanakkale. After the proclamation of the republic, Gallipolli and Biga starboards was abolished. Then Çanak village (which locates between them) became a city.

.

   Çanakkale also calls as Hellespontos and Dardanelles. The name of Çanakkale comes from the traditional craft "çanak ve çömlek" (which mean pot and pans) in the region. After the two symbols of the city Kale-i Sultaniye and pot crafting combined together, the name of the city became Çanakkale. Çanakkale is home for many culturel treasures and constructions.

 

   

    Çanakkale is famous for Ezine Cheese, semolina dessety with fresh cheese and tomatoes. Cimenlik Castle (which is located on narrowest part of the Dardanelles Strait), Naval Museum, Replica of Nusret Minelayer are the leading parts for visiting. Mirror's Bazaar (Aynalı Çarşı, which is mentioned in Çanakkale's folk song) is very close to this location. Historical Greek's Houses, Greek's Church (where many theater and arias are played), historical Synagogue, traditional Turkish Public Baths, Çanakkale City Museum, Yalı Mosque, Yalı Inn and clock tower can be found in the part of old Çanakkale. After passing ferries through to the coast line, you will see Troy Horse (which used in movie of Troy), the model for Troy's settlement layers and sun clock. Archaeology Museum which very close to city centre is the another place to visit.
